Turn off the water supply to the hose.
Go to the end of the hose where it connects to the spigot.
Grab the hose at a spot a few feet away from the spigot.
Bend a large loop, perhaps 3 feet across, in the hose.
Move down the hose a foot or two in the direction away from the spigot.
Turn another loop in the hose and stack it on top of the first loop.
Repeat until the entire hose is coiled.
Tips & Warnings
Keep hose in shade to prevent sun damage between uses.
The hose is much easier to bend or coil during warm weather.
For improved storage, consider purchasing a garden hose rack, reel or reel cart.
If you kink the hose while coiling it, unkink it immediately. Otherwise, you'll forget and turn the hose on later, causing a crack.
