By using the hang-drying technique, flowers can be easily preserved to create a long-lasting arrangement. This method works best for long-stemmed flowers, especially roses and hydrangeas, but all flowers will work well. Hang-drying creates a romantic, natural and time-worn floral arrangement that you can enjoy for many years.
Things You'll Need
Rubber bands
Twine
Scissors
Tall vase
Photograph your floral arrangement from all angles for future rearrangement If preserving a special or meaningful display.
Remove and discard all leaves. Separate the arrangement into smaller groups to avoid crushing.
Tie bunches together by their stems using rubber bands. Tie with twine for hanging.
Hang upside down in a well-ventilated location. Avoid areas with direct sunlight and excessively damp areas to prevent discoloration and spoiling. Attics and closets are ideal.
Hang for one to two weeks until completely dry. Unbind all flowers and arrange in a tall vase.
