Things You'll Need
Water
Detergent
Trisodium Phosphate
Concrete stain prep
Acid stain
Concrete sealer
Prep the concrete. Remove all waxes, glues or other contaminants from the concrete. Scrub it clean with water and detergent to remove grease and oils. Trisodium Phosphate is recommended. Allow to dry.
Apply a concrete stain prep, letting it soak for up to 10 minutes. Do not allow this to dry. Add more as needed.
Remove stain prep by scrubbing and rinsing thoroughly with clean water.
Apply your selected concrete stain. If you are diluting it, be sure to use exact measurements to maintain a constant color. You can apply the stain with a brush or sprayer depending on the size of the statuary. Allow to dry completely.
Apply a sealer generously to protect the stain and maintain color integrity. Apply three coats for maximum protection, letting the sealer dry between coats to keep it from getting sticky. Allow 2 days to dry.
