Weeds are a problem, but using harsh chemicals pollutes the environment. Before you reach for a chemical weed killer, try making your own. You can make eco-friendly weed killer with some simple ingredients found in your home or local supermarket.
Things You'll Need
Vinegar
Salt
Dish washing liquid
Plastic spray bottle
Measuring cup
Measure 2 cups vinegar, 1/2 cup of salt and 1/2 cup of dish washing liquid into plastic spray bottle. Mix well by shaking for at least one minute.
Use with care, as you do not want to spray your flowers or vegetable plants with the weed killer. The vinegar kills the weeds, while the salt keeps them from regrowing
Kill weeds using hot water. Spray the weeds with very hot water in a spray bottle.
Remove weeds from the area after they have died. Weed at least a 1/2 hour every week in the garden.
