Ants can be a very big pest when maintaining a garden. They can eat your fruits and vegetables right as they ripen before you have a chance to even harvest them. Planting Cinnamon or Mint around your infected plants seems to help keep the ants at bay. You can also get crushed cinnamon or mint from your spice cabinet and sprinkle it around the plant.
A mixture of Cornmeal and Sugar will also kill any ant that ingests this mix. Apparently the cornmeal expands once consumed and will therefor kill the ant.
Some other plants that you can introduce to your garden to keep away ants are garlic, mint, aster, geraniums, chrysanthemums. This is also a good natural way to keep your vegetables and flowers ant free
