Water your cucumbers every two or three days with a watering can. These plants have shallow root systems and drink water quickly, so water deeply so that the soil is moist but not soggy.
Wait until the top layer of soil is dry before watering again. Over watering could cause the roots to rot or the fruit to become moldy.
Avoid watering your cucumbers every time their leaves begin to droop, especially on hot days. The leaves of any plant will droop under very hot sun; they should perk up again around dusk when the air begins to cool.
