Electric tree pruners are sold at home improvement stores, but may not come fully assembled out of the box. Tree pruners are made by many manufacturers, such as Troy-Bilt and Corona. Any tree pruner from these manufacturers will require you to connect the blade assembly before using the pruner. Assemble the parts for your tree pruner by following simple instructions so you can start pruning your trees.
Things You'll Need
Clamp
Lock washer
Screw
Allen wrench
Wrench
Screwdriver
Troy-Bilt Pruner
Take the tree pruner and blade out of the package. Set them on the floor or on a workbench.
Separate the cover from the bottom of the blade to expose the mounting holes. Align the holes in the blade with the pins on the end of the pruner.
Set the clamp in place over the pin and the blade. Place the lock washer over the screw, then insert the screw into the clamp. Tighten the screw with the Allen wrench.
Corona Pruner
Take the tree pruner and blade out of the package. Set them on the floor or on a workbench.
Remove the nut on the pivot bolt from the pruner with the wrench. Unscrew the saw anchor screw with the screwdriver.
Place the pruner blade over the pivot bolt, then loosely tighten the nut by hand.
Align one of the holes in the blade with the hole for the saw anchor screw. Insert the saw anchor screw, and tighten it with the screwdriver.
Tighten the nut on the pivot bolt with the wrench.
Tips & Warnings
Be careful when working with the pruner blades.
The blade on the Troy-Bilt pruner needs to face the small foot on the end of the pruner.
Remove the blade cover before using the pruner.
Do not remove the pivot bolt when removing the nut on the Corona pruner.
