Keeping your lawn healthy, green, and vibrant is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home. In some climates, maintaining a green lawn requires minimal effort with sowing grass seeds and keeping it trimmed, but in some locations it may be more difficult to grow and maintain a lush green lawn. Sometimes you want your grass to be green, and you want immediate results.
Things You'll Need
Green lawn paint
Garden pump sprayer
Buy green lawn paint from your local garden center. It's a safe and harmless dye that turns your grass green in minutes and will not harm your grass, pets, or children. Lawn paint will eliminate brown spots, faded color and pet damage.
Check your local weather conditions. Make sure there is no forecast for rain because the paint must go on dry. Don't spray if it's windy outside because it will go everywhere. Wait for the wind to die down, or choose a different day to spray.
Prepare your lawn to be sprayed. Rake up leaves and mow your grass. The lawn paint will last until the next time you mow, so mowing will make sure the pigment lasts longer.
Spray your concrete and any other outside surfaces with water before painting. If your concrete gets paint on it, immediately rinse it off with water so it does not leave a permanent stain.
Mix the green grass pigment with water according to the directions on the label, then put the solution in a garden sprayer for an even application.
Shake the sprayer well and distribute it evenly over your lawn. Stay about 7 to 9 inches from the ground and spray in a grid so you hit all sides of the grass. It will take at least one hour to dry.
