While lawnmowers are best suited to large open areas, weedeaters are perfect for quickly and efficiently trimming weeds and grasses in locations that lawnmowers can't reach due to their size. Additionally, Echo weedeaters are more portable than lawnmowers and are perfect for trimming the grass around edges near sidewalks and driveways. Fuel filter
Engine Cuts Off or Operates Poorly
Check the choke switch and make sure it's closed. This will prevent dust and grime from going into the carburetor.
Unscrew the butterfly clasp that holds the plastic air filter cover in place. Simply turn the clasp to the left until it comes completely off the weedeater. No tools are necessary for this.
Pull off the plastic cover to expose the air filter and remove the filter.
Run water from the sink over the filter until all of the dust particles are removed. Let the filter dry in the sun for 12 hours.
Replace the dry air filter by sliding it back into place on the weedeater.
Reattach the plastic cover that goes over the air filter and replace the butterfly clip by turning it to the right until it's securely attached.
Fuel Filter Blocked
Unscrew the fuel cap attached to the fuel tank. Turn it to the left until it's completely removed from the tank.
Bend a hanger into the shape of a hook that's small enough to fit into the fuel tank.
Stick the hook into the tank and pull out the fuel line.
Unscrew the two ends of the fuel line that run into the filter and remove the filter. No tools are necessary for this.
Take a new filter and tighten the two ends of the fuel line onto the filter.
Push the fuel line back into the fuel tank. Be careful to make sure that the line isn't twisted.
Close the tank by screwing the cap to the right as far as it will go.
Tips & Warnings
Make sure the fuel tank is empty before changing the fuel filter.
Work in a well-ventilated area when working with gasoline.
