Hunter PGJ sprinkler heads are fully adjustable in the water coverage area. This type of sprinkler head is gear driven and sprays water from the right arc to the left arc setting. Increasing the radius of a sprinkler head drives the water farther away from the head. Adjusting the arc and radius of a sprinkler head allows full coverage of the lawn, plants and trees without overlapping coverage.
Things You'll Need
Hunter wrench or Hex key and flat screwdriver
Radius Adjustments
Place the metal hex end of a Hunter wrench or a flat screwdriver on the radius reduction screw. This screw is on the sprinkler head at the top of the Hunter name.
Turn the screw clockwise to reduce the radius by closing the internal water flow valve.
Turn the screw counterclockwise to increase the radius by opening the internal water flow valve.
Remove the key or flat screwdriver, turn the watering system on and observe the adjustments.
Arc Adjustments
Grasp the sprinkler body with one hand. Turn the nozzle turret counterclockwise until it stops at the preset left stop. The nozzle turret is the area that sprays water out of the sprinkler head.
Turn the nozzle turret clockwise until it stops at the right fixed arc stop and hold it in this position. The fixed right stop is not adjustable. Arc adjustments on the left side control the direction of the water spray.
Insert the plastic key end of the Hunter key or a hex wrench into the adjustment socket at the top of the head.
Turn the key or hex wrench clockwise to increase the left side arc. The largest possible radius is 360 degrees and the key or wrench will stop turning at this point.
Turn the key or hex wrench counterclockwise to decrease the left side arc. The smallest possible radius is 40 degrees and the key or wrench will stop turning at this point.
Remove the key or hex wrench, turn the watering system on and observe the adjustments
