Honcho is a glyphosate-based, broad-spectrum herbicide, meaning it kills any plant with which it comes into contact. For this reason, gardeners and homeowners should take care when using Honcho near trees or other desired plants.
Things You'll Need
Protective clothing and eyewear
Hand-held sprayer
Don long-sleeved shirts and pants, shoes and socks, and protective eyewear on a calm, non-windy day. Use of protective wear and attention to the weather shields against accidental contact between Honcho grass killer and yourself or wanted plants and trees.
Fill the hand sprayer with 1 gallon of water. Add 6.5 oz. of Honcho grass killer slowly. Seal the cap and gently mix the solution by swirling the sprayer.
Set the nozzle to a coarse-spray setting. Spray the grass killer solution only on undesired grass and weeds, taking care to minimize any drifting spray. Wet the grass but do not soak it. Ensure an even, complete coverage.
Change clothing immediately and wash your hands after using Honcho grass killer.
Dispose of any remaining herbicide/water solution according to local hazardous-waste regulations.
