Suncast Hose Reels house garden hoses on a portable spool. The spool turns via a handle that either lets the hose out or retrieves it from the extended position. Suncast hose reels are made to be assembled and taken apart with one Phillip's screwdriver. Power drills or screwdrivers are not recommended for this task, as stated by the user manual included with the devices.
Things You'll Need
Phillip's Screwdriver
3-lb. rubber mallet
Plastic bag or cup
Position the Suncast hose reel on a flat work surface.
Unscrew the connecting screws on the right-hand side of the reel. These are in the handle brackets, off the main "V." Place the screws in the plastic bag or cup. Pull the handle off and set it aside.
Lift the right side up and gently tap the inside edge of the wheel with the rubber mallet. Pop the wheel off then pull the axle out. This will disengage the opposite side wheel as well. Set the axle and wheels with the handle.
Unscrew the handle screws for the upright bracket. Unscrew both the left and right side screws, and place them in the bag or cup. Pull the handle off the unit.
Unspool the hoses and unscrew any hose connections -- be sure the water is off.
