While you cannot duplicate Roundup exactly at your home, you can make a weed-killer that mimics Roundup.
Purchase a bottle of distilled vinegar, such as Heinz or Mizkan.
Pour the distilled vinegar into a watering can or spray bottle.
Cover any plants that you do not want to harm with a plastic sheet.
Spread the distilled vinegar over the weeds. Distilled vinegar contains a high level of acid and will kill any weeds it comes in contact with.
Tips & Warnings
Other homemade Roundup alternatives include rock salt (will ruin soil and prevent future growth), boiling water and rubbing alcohol.
Any homemade weed killer will be nonselective, meaning that it will kill anything it touches -- including desirable plants and grasses. If this is a concern, consider purchasing a selective herbicide or weeding by hand.
