Fill flower beds with flower pots to liven up the garden and create an inviting, ever-changing space. To create a balanced design, use a variety of pots in varying shapes, sizes and colors. Incorporate a color scheme to complement the existing flowers and choose plants like perennials that come back each year for a long-lasting establishment in the bed. Because flower pots are easy to change out, you can create seasonal looks year after year. Make sure the flower pots you choose for your flower bed have drainage holes so water can drain out. Excess moisture can cause plants to rot.

Balance the flower bed with medium-sized flower pots tucked around the bed and filled with a wide variety of plants and flowers that complement the existing plants. Space the pots out side by side in sets of three or randomly throughout the bed for a balanced design.
Fill flower pots with low-growing plants like thyme to rest over flower bed walls and fill in bare areas of the garden. Add small plants to pots for the front of the bed to help fill in hard-to-reach areas and create a full display.
Add spring-blooming bulbs to provide color in early spring and liven up the space after winter's dormant season. Mix up the flower pot with a wide variety of bulbs for a sea of color.
