Homelite makes a wide variety of two-cycle power lawn tools from chain saws and weed trimmers to leaf blowers. If the fuel line in your tool cracks or starts to leak, it requires immediate attention. Stop operation until the fuel line is properly fixed. Working with a fuel leak can cause a fire or bodily harm. You can install new fuel line at home.
Things You'll Need
Needle nose pliers
Set the equipment on a level work bench.
Remove the gas cap from the tank. If there's fuel in the tank, pour it out into a gas safe container. Look inside the tank and find the fuel filter connected to the end of the fuel line.
Pull out the end of the fuel line from the inside of the gas tank enough to expose the fuel filter using the needle nose pliers; pull off the fuel filter that is fitted to the end of the line. Grab the fuel line from the outside of the gas tank and slide the fuel line out. Follow the line to where it plugs into the carburetor.
Slide the fuel line off the end of the carburetor. Slide the end of the new line onto the carburetor. Slide the other end of the line into the gas tank. Pull out the end in the gas tank with the pliers and reinstall the fuel filter. Push the line and filter back into the gas tank. Reinstall the gas cap.
