John Deere Gators are small, gasoline-powered, all-terrain utility vehicles that have four to six wheels with inflatable rubber tires. They often have a rear bed similar to a pickup truck. Due to the uncertain terrain on which the Gator travels, flat tires are not uncommon. Like a car or truck, a Gator should not be driven on a flat tire if it can be avoided, and the tire should be changed as soon as possible.
Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stands
Snap ring pliers
Park the Gator on a flat, solid surface and engage the parking brake. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition.
Place a jack under the frame of the Gator on the side of the damaged tire.
Lift the Gator using the jack following the manufacturer's instructions, then slide the jack stand under the frame. Lower the Gator onto the jack stand, then remove the jack.
Pull the yellow cap off of the center of the wheel axle using your fingers.
Insert the two prongs on the end of the snap ring pliers into the two holes on the snap ring, located on the axle.
Squeeze the pliers, then remove the snap ring.
Slide the wheel off of the axle.
