The screen covering the vent for a central air conditioner is typically found on the bottom of a wall at the back or side of a house. This enables cleaning of the vent from outside the house if or when needed. To hide the screen covering the air conditioner's vent, use a fence placed in front of it. There are a number of methods that can be employed to hide the screen from sight, while still allowing it to be accessed if and when necessary. A few supplies from a home and garden store will be needed, as will some landscaping tools.
Things You'll Need
Vinyl fence
Shovel
Hedge bush
Paintbrush
Paint
Open the panels of an "accordion-style" vinyl fence. Place the fence on the ground in front of the screen. Angle the panels of the fence so that they form a "V" shape that hides the screen from anyone looking in its direction.
Dig a hole in the ground about 2 feet from the wall where the screen is. Plant a hedge bush that is as long or a bit longer than the width of the screen and a bit higher than the height of the screen in the hole. The screen will now be hidden by the bush.
Paint the screen the same color as the side of the house to blend it into the wall. This will make the screen far less noticeable than leaving it in its original color.
