The Vigoro 3015V irrigation timer easily connects to a wall faucet and standard hose to water your lawn automatically. With an easy-to-understand digital interface, the timer can be set to water at regular intervals -- of several hours or several days -- using simple arrow keys on the timer's face. The Vigoro also features an override button to allow you to water your lawn manually out of scheduled rotation. With some simple programming, the 3015V turns any hose and sprinkler into an automated irrigation system.

Unscrew the screws on the back of the timer that hold the battery cover in place. Pry the cover off with the flat of the screwdriver. Install a 9-volt battery into the chamber, following the polarity directions printed inside the chamber. Replace the cover and the twist the screws back in.
Raise the upper coupling nut to the faucet opening, and rotate the coupling clockwise to tighten it around the faucet. Raise the coupled end of a standard water hose to the bottom connector of the Vigoro and tighten the coupling around the opening.
Press the "Left" key beside the "Current Time" field to lower the number to the closest hour of the current time. Press the "Right" key to raise the number. Confirm that the "AM" and "PM" settings are correct.
Push the "Left" key beside the "Start Time" field to lower the number to the closest hour of the current time. Press the "Right" key to raise the hour. Confirm that the "AM" and "PM" indicators are correct.
Press the "Right" or "Left" arrow buttons to schedule the "How Often" field. The "How Often" field determines how frequently the timer activates the sprinkler in increments of hours or days. For example, if you select "6 Hours," the sprinkler waters the lawn four times a day, or every six hours. If you select "3 Days," the sprinkler is activated every three days.
Press the "Right" or "Left" arrow buttons to schedule the "How Long" field. The "How Long" field determines the duration of watering after the timer activates the sprinkler in minute or hour increments. For example, if you select "20 minutes," the sprinkler waters the lawn for 20 minutes every time it’s activated.
Press the "Program On/Off" key to enable the Vigoro timer settings. A horizontal line will appear on the display to signal its activation. Press the "Program On/Off" button to disable the timer.
Press the "Manual On/Off" button to manually open the timer valve and override the schedule. Press the "Manual On/Off" button again to close the valve and reactivate the timer.
Replace the timer's battery each year. A battery lasts approximately one watering season. A low battery indicator bar shows when the battery needs to be replaced. If the indicator comes on during watering, the unit shuts off automatically. Insert a new battery, and re-program the timer.
