If you have grub worms as a constant pest in your yard, you are not alone. Grub worms, also known as June beetles, are a common nuisance that can cause severe damage to your plants and grass. Aside from causing damage, they also attract other pests ranging from skunks to moles. Before you pay a professional a substantial amount of money, try getting rid of grub worms on your own. Follow this easy do-it-yourself remedy, and your yard will be worm-free before you know it.
Things You'll Need
1 gallon water
2 gallon stock pot
6 minced garlic cloves
1-1/2 cups liquid dish detergent
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. cayenne pepper or hot chili powder
1 gallon-size spray bottle
Pour 1 gallon water into a 2 gallon stock pot.
Heat the pot until the water comes to a boil.
Add 6 minced garlic cloves and 1-1/2 cup liquid dish detergent to the water.
Add 2 tbsp. vegetable oil and 2 tbsp. cayenne pepper or hot chili powder to the mixture.
Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool completely.
Pour the mixture into a 1 gallon-size spray bottle.
Use the spray bottle to completely saturate the grub worm-infested area.
Tips & Warnings
Adding an additional 1/2 cup of liquid dish detergent will make this grub killer even more effective.
Because it may take a while to get rid of all grub worms, it may be necessary to spray this product twice a week for up to two weeks.
