Komatsu was established in 1921 and has been building heavy machinery in Japan since then. The D21P-7 dozer is a medium-sized model designated as a "swamp" dozer, thanks to its 7-foot-long tracks that cover 1,500 square inches. The dozer is designed to grade and push dirt on soft ground and slopes up to 50 degrees. The D21P-7 has been replaced by the D21P-8E0, but parts are still available.
Engine
The D21P-7 is equipped with a 40-horsepower fuel-injected diesel engine.
Weight
The operating weight is 9,000 pounds. This is very light compared to Komatsu's largest swamp dozer, the D85PX-15R, which weighs 60,500 pounds.
Operator Safety
The D21P-7 is equipped with an ROPS (roll over protection system) canopy, which is a piece of the tractor's frame and therefore strong in the event of a rollover.
Blade Specs
The six-way blade on the D21P-7 is hydraulically controlled using the operator's right hand and can push up to .89 cubic yards of dirt in a single push. The blade tilts left and right, up and down and floats left or right.
