Internal Engine Specs
The Stihl MS 210 C has a two-stroke internal combustion engine. The single piston, sized at 35.2 cubic centimeters, moves up and down in a bore of 40 millimeters. The overall stroke of the piston is 28 millimeters. The engine on the MS 210 idles at 2,800 RPMs and can max out at 12,000. Never exceed this maximum engine speed. The power head on the 210 C weighs about 9.9 lbs.
Fuel System Specs
The Stihl MS 210 C operates without an oil pump, so all lubrication must come from the mixed fuel. This engine requires 89 octane regular unleaded gas combined, at a 50-to-1 ratio when using Stihl brand engine oil, with two-cycle engine oil. If not using Stihl brand engine oil, mix the two at a 30-to-1 ratio. The fuel tank on the 210 holds 1 pint. The all position diaphragm carburetor comes with an integral fuel pump.
Ignition System Specs
The internal combustion engine ignites from the electrical charge sent up the wires from the ignition module. The ignition module, an electronic magneto type, uses a coil to act as a capacitor, holding and discharging the spark. The flywheel revolves on the crankshaft and must have an air gap distance with the ignition module of .2 to .3 millimeter. The 210 engine takes a Bosch WSR 6F or an NGJ BPMR 7A spark plug with an electrode gap of .5 millimeter.
Cutting Equipment Specs
The chain on the 210 revolves around the bar up to 50 feet per second. The fully automatic, speed-controlled, rotary piston oil pump keeps the lubrication continuously flowing onto the bar and chain. This automatic pump also has a manual output screw that allows the user to regulate the flow of oil. The oil tank has .4 pint capacity. The 210 can use a 12-, 14- or 16-inch guide bar, which requires a chain with a 3/8-inch pitch.
