Characteristics
Plants that grow at the beach must be salt and wind tolerant and they must be able to withstand low-nutrient, sandy soils.
Ground Covers
The blanket flower plant produces bright red flowers with yellow rims that make excellent cut flowers. It blooms from May to September and grows to be between 18 and 24 inches tall.
Shrubs
The yaupon is an evergreen shrub with bright red berries. Its leaves are elliptical in shape and about 2 inches in length. The plant grows to a height between 6 and 15 feet.
Flower Size
