A popular model and top seller electric edger is the Black & Decker Edge Hog 2-in-1 Landscape Edger with a three-position blade depth. It also has a 2 1/4 horsepower motor, durable steel blade and adjustable handle.
According to the Ace Hardware website, the top five best selling lawn trimmers are the Yard-Machines Curved Shaft Gas Trimmer, the Black & Decker AFS Electric Trimmer, the Black & Decker Cordless String Trimmer, the Lehr Propane Curved Shaft Detachable String Trimmer and the Lehr Propane Straight Shaft Detachable String Trimmer, all consumer rated at 3 1/2 stars. String trimmers are the preferred lawn trimmer because they are easy to use, and can cut around shrubs, posts, rocks and such with no damage to the trimmer.
Black & Decker is probably the most prominently known tool manufacturer in retail.
