One of the modern skid loaders is the 853 model, and a skid loader is a piece of equipment that helps you lift and move material and objects.
Engine
The Bobcat 853 is part of the C-Series of Bobcat skid loaders. The engine on this model has 58 horsepower and it runs on diesel fuel. It features a liquid engine cooling system, which keeps the engine from overheating. The 853 does not have a turbo-charged engine. It has an 18 gallon per minute (GPM) pump with an auxiliary high flow of 18 GPM.
Load
The rated operating capacity (ROC) of this machine is 1,700 pounds, and the ROC refers to how much the machine can carry without tipping over. To ensure safe operation of your skid loader, never exceed the ROC weight. The tipping load is 3,420 pounds, and the tipping load refers to the load located at the machine's center of gravity. When the maximum tipping load is met, the wheel loader slightly tips over the front axle. The maximum operating weight of the skid loader is 6,500 pounds, and this weight refers to the weight of the machine plus gas and the operator. This measurement does not include the weight of the load.
Dimensions
The Bobcat 853 is 7 feet 5-inches high by 5 feet 1-inch wide, and the height to the bucket's hinge pin is nearly 10 feet. The bucket arm can reach up to nearly 2 feet high, and the wheelbase (distance between the two front wheels) is 3 feet, 2-inches wide. This skid loader comes with the Bobcat Interlock Control System (BICS), which is a safety measure that requires the operator to lock the seat bar and to turn on the engine.
Optional Features
The auxiliary hydraulic system is an optional feature, and this system uses hydraulic fluid to maneuver the skid loader's attachments. You must request these additional features from your dealer at the time of your order, and always purchase equipment from an authorized Bobcat dealer. If not, then you are not eligible for the Bobcat warranty.
