Ford 601 Tractor Specifications. The Ford 601 is a series of classic tractors which first entered the market in 1957, to replace the 600 series. The 601 series had features similar to the 600 series, with minor changes in appearance including a new grille look. The 601 series was produced in Dearborn, Michigan, until it ceased production in 1962.

The Ford 611 was a member of the 601 tractor series and was equipped with an EAE Red Tiger gasoline OHV engine, with four cylinders and two valves per cylinder. The engine has a bore x stroke of 3.4375 x 3.60 inches (87 x 91 mm) and a compression ratio of 7.5:1. It had a displacement of 134 cubic inches (2.2 liters), a power output of 48.4 horsepower at 2,200 rpm and maximum torque of 126.8 foot-pounds at 1,600 rpm. It was equipped with Select-o-Speed transmission and a liquid cooling system with a capacity of 15 quarts of coolant. The fuel tank had a capacity of 13 gallons.

The Ford 601 series of tractor had a dry weight of 3,321 pounds and a rear tread of 48 to 76 inches. The front tires had dimensions of 5.50 inches by 16 inches, while the rear tires measured 10 inches by 28 inches.
Model Differences
Differences between the models in the Ford 601 series generally came down to differences in transmission. The Ford 611, for example, was equipped with Select-o-Speed transmission and no power take-off (PTO). The Ford 621 had similar specifications to the 611, except that it was equipped with four-speed transmission and also had no PTO or three-point hitch. The 631 also had four-speed transmission and no PTO. The 641 and 651 had four-speed transmission. The 661 had five-speed transmission and live PTO. The 671 and 681 both used Select-o-Speed transmission, but the 681 was also equipped with dual-speed PTO.
