When Are Stargazer Lilies in Season in the US?. Stargazer lilies are true lilies with flowers approaching 6 inches across when fully open. The flowers are highly scented and grow on stems up to 36 inches high. They are somewhat cold hardy but don't tolerate high heat. The season depends on where they're grown.

Gardens
Bulbs may be planted in either fall or spring. The lilies bloom from July through August depending on the hardiness zone of the location and how early they were planted. For example, in Minnesota they bloom in August, in Kentucky they bloom as early as the end of June.
Greenhouses
Potted stargazer lilies are forced in greenhouses to bloom outside their normal season. They also are shorter than their usual height and are kept to 18 to 20 inches tall. You'll find them available during the holidays and Valentine's Day because of their bright pink and red color.
Florist
Stargazer lilies are available in florists all year long. During the summer, when they're naturally blooming in the United States, they are less expensive then in the fall and winter. That's because they must be imported from other countries at that time.
