One of the more popular lawnmower manufacturers, as of 2010, has been Husqvarna, a European company. Its riding lawnmowers are affordable and are sold all across the United States, and run the gamut from smaller, cheaper models for the average homeowner to larger, professional models for landscapers and groundskeepers.
Any piece of mechanical equipment requires regular service and maintenance to keep it running smoothly, and Husqvarna's mowers are no exception. Luckily, servicing its mowers is both simple and quick.
Ensure the tire pressure is at 16 psi (pounds per square inch) in all four tires.
Check and clean the air intake. A clogged intake can significantly decrease engine cooling, which can damage the engine.
Replace the air filter if it is obviously dirty, or if the dust load indicator has turned red.
Replace the fuel filter about every 800 hours of operation, or more often if it becomes clogged.
Check the level of fluid in the radiator. If it is low, use a 50-50 mix of antifreeze and water to bring it to the proper level.
Check the blades. They should be sharp and undamaged. Blades with nicks or cracks should be replaced.
Check the fluid level in the hydraulic reservoir. Fill it to within 1/4 inch of the top of the tank.
Ensure that the engine oil level is within limits. The oil should be changed every 150 hours of operation, and the filter should be changed every other oil change.
Lubricate the mower chassis at all points indicated in the owner's manual using a lightweight, lithium-based grease.
Tips & Warnings
