Clean rag
Verify that the weed eater's handle switch is set to the "ON" position as marked by the "I" symbol. Pull the starter cord to see if the unit starts.
Replace the spark plug. Open the spark plug boot on the top of the unit. Unscrew the spark plug with a wrench or socket. Insert a new spark plug. Tighten the spark plug in place. Close the spark plug boot. Pull the starter cord to see if the unit starts.
Push the primer bulb under the air filter cover on the left side of the unit. Verify that is fills with fuel. Pull the starter cord to see if the unit starts.
Drain a flooded engine. Remove the spark plug as indicated above. Turn the unit so that the spark plug hole points toward the ground. Set the choke lever at the back of the engine to "RUN." Pull the starter cord 14 times to expel any excess fuel. Wipe the spark plug with a clean rag and reinstall it as before. Turn the unit over to the upright position. Pull the handle trigger and pull the starter cord 3 times to attempt to start the unit. If the unit does not start, set the choke to "FULL" and pull the starter cord to see if the unit starts. Do not pull the trigger when starting with the choke on "FULL."
