When Do Termites Swarm?. Termite swarms occur when winged adults look for new colonies. Subterranean termites swarm when it is warm and during the mornings. Drywood termites swarm at night or after dusk. After swarming, termites will loose their wings and mate. Once mating has taken place, they seek out sites to build colonies.

The time when termites swarm varies depending on species, but it usually begins from January to February. It can last until June.
Time Frame
Subterranean termites will swarm in the mornings to mid-day, usually following a good rain.
Other Times
Drywood termites usually swarm in the early evening.
