Mosquitoes and other pests can quickly wreak havoc on your idyllic backyard retreat. For this reason, a propane insect fogger can be one of your most valued tools to help you enjoy evenings on your deck or patio or in your yard. If your fogger becomes clogged, you will want to know how to fix it right away so you can get back to enjoying pest-free outdoor time.
Things You'll Need
Protective gloves
Pipe cleaner, toothpick, or thin wire
Turn off your insect fogger and set it down on a hard, non-flammable surface to allow it to cool. Never work on it while it's hot because you might burn yourself on the metal cage or with the insecticide.
Put on protective gloves so that you won't burn yourself on the surface of the fogger or on any insecticide that's inside it.
Clean the fogger's spray tip by pulling it up and away from the cage. Insert a pipe cleaner into the small tube to clear away the clog. Sometimes a toothpick or thin piece of wire will work, but a pipe cleaner can reach farther down into the tip to remove deeper clogs.
Clean the pump assembly by removing the pump assembly cover and inserting a small wire or pipe cleaner into the hole to remove any clogs.
Tips & Warnings
Since insect fogger models vary, it's best to consult the manufacturer's instructions for your particular fogger before working on it.
Do not work on a hot insect fogger; allow time for it to cool down.
