Marigold blooms throughout India from July to September. It usually is found close to streams and in damp meadows and marshes. The main colors of marigolds are golden-yellow and white. With a hollow stem and glossy leaves, marigold continues to grow until the flowers finish blooming in late summer.
Wild delphinium produces a purple flower and grows along grassy river banks in India, particularly in the mountain region. It also is found in pink, white and blue. While color is what defines wild delphinium, its irregularly shaped leaves and flower petals also are defining characteristics. Wild delphinium can reach a height of 3 meters, and so the flower often stands out with its strong and bold colors. The flower usually blooms from June to August.
The lotus is a simple water plant that floats on the rivers and other waterways in India. It has a detailed flower with layers of petals that overlap one another in a symmetrical pattern. Its leaves can reach up to 50cm in diameter. The lotus is found in rosy pink shades with a bit of white, and it also has a dark brown shade from seeds. Lotus is recognized for its petal characteristics; the petals open in the morning and close slowly down in the afternoon.
The dragon’s breath flower does not stand out because of its color but because of its low-rise personality. The plant does not grow more than 6 inches in height, yet its flower's dab of purple, white and pink makes it memorable. The plant's leaves also stand out with the deep colors of olive green, maroon and burgundy. Dragon's breath flowers start blooming in late spring and bloom throughout the summer months.
